Default What Colour Background do you have?

I'm starting NOT like my background as much. I have one of the backgrounds with the 3d rock pictures but I'm convince they do not show off my Kitumba colours that well. My tank is also 3ft deep so I don't think it's the greatest...I'm thinking of switching to a black background since my gravel is also black....Getting new background is a very costly affair for me since I cover the sides of my tank and it being 8ftx3ft footprint meaning I have to purchase 14ft -15ft of 3ft high background which runs between $4-8 per foot...sigh..

What colour background do you keep with your fronts and or think is the best colour to bring out the colour of your fronts?

Here's mine:

I have a black background on 2 of my tanks and the Rocky/Hawaii background on the other 2. I can't decide which one I like the best.

I love black. IMO really adds to the depth of a tank.

On my 150g, I began experimenting with different types of materials for background most of which were black. The way my tank is positioned and the room is lighted... I get a lot of glare/reflection off the back of my tank with the LFS plastic sheets. One time I tried a plain black beach towel that I trimmed to fit the back of my tank. It looked really good IMO, cut down on the glare greatly and gave that "deep" water effect. Also... I've tried black flanel, and dark navy blue flanel (you can buy at material store) priced around the same as LFS plastic backgrounds. Non reflective background + right lighting = white stripes and blue on your fronts to really "pop".

On my Samazi 125 I have three sides painted black. I did this because of it's postion in the room. It's right next to a window and the sunlight was causing more algae then I could handle.

I agree with Matt, the black backgrounds on the back of my tanks along with the subdued lighting really aides in the appearance of a "deep tank"
