I've not tried it myself but I believe it can work. However, they may cost as much as fronts, depending on the source.

Thanks Jeff. Thinking about it,yes they probably would cost about the same.I would have to get decent sized ones too,going by how they attacked my B.Ns. Maybe I should just stay as I am.When the Fronts have grown,the tank won't look so empty.

I had my fronts with mbuna's "not a good idea" they where getting beat up by my bumble bees moved them in with my starry nights and american arowana getting along great.

+1. I've seen people try it, but at best it's bad for the fins on your fronts.

Amatitlania nigrofasciata is what I keep with my Burundi, they are a small central american that my Big males can bully instead of each other.

I have Placidochromis Phenochilus Tanzania in with my Mikula, very peaceful, no problems and looks great, all my other fronts are alone

I keep 4 WC Altolamprologus compressiceps crocodile island and 5 syndontis petricola. I really like comps/calvus with my Kitumba. I blame Razzo for all his Mikula/Muzi pictures, those pics sold me.

ive got mine in with Venustus, and other peacocks, it makes my fronts less timid and skittish.
