Default 125 question

Hello....
I'm getting ready to put my kipili juvies (9) in a 125 gallon 6 footer. I plan on having this in my bedroom. Is the FX5 quiet enough to not disturb me? I currently have a 55 gallon with two AC 70's and at times they are a bit too noisy for my liking. Would the FX5 be plenty of filtration or should I go ahead and add an AC 110? Thanks for your input.
David

I think if you keep your water level full enough it shouldn't be a problem. I have an fx-5 and two AC110's on my 125. Mine is in the den and it only gets loud when the water level drops.

I had a few probs. with my Fx5 at first. I didn't have my hoses cut to the right length and I was getting air that couldn't get pushed through the system causing quit a bit of rattle. After I got that figured out you would never know it was running.

I've read that the huge ehiem is much quieter than the FX5. I'd look into that if it was in your bedroom. Then again the eheim comes with the eheim price.

I love my FX5. I think my AC100 is louder!

An FX5 is rated for 900 gph and the AC110 is rated ar 500 gph. That would give you a total of 1400 gph which will get you over the 10X hump (if that is important to you). The FX5 is probably OK by itself but I like the combination of a canister with a HOB.

On my 125, I have that same combo (FX5 & AC110). I even run an extra Emperor 400 just so I can have a seeded filter in case I need it for a hospital tank. I don't hear any noise at all but they are on the other side of the fish wall.
