Default Another spawn...

I think they got it right this time. Another female spawned tonight and the male stayed right with her. She would drop an egg, pick it up and the male would hover over the sand to release his sperm. Time will tell if the eggs got fertilized, but they looked like they knew what the where doing tonight and she is still holding a few hours later. Fingers crossed.

You going to strip early or try to let her hold?

I was thinking of letting her hold until the end of the week. I need tumblers.

If you can't get tumblers in time and can get to a dollar store, this might work.

5 gallon tank with Fluval 2 filter, airstone and heater

The fluval 2 combined with the air stone are adjusted to get the right egg movement.

Not a bad idea! Thanks. I just hope she holds until the end of the week.

Well, that lasted about 24 hrs or less. I got home tonight to see that she swallowed the eggs.

Should I strip within a few hours of their next spawn? Anyone strip the same day?

The earliest I have ever stripped is next day. There was a suttle difference between the viable eggs and the unfertilized eggs. At that point I watch the eggs and take out any that start to fungus/die normally by day 3-5 I do not loos any more.
