Any feedback on these two? I've been using Russ' frozen diet and NLS. I was just curious about Extreme Big Guy formula.
Thanks!

Haven't tried it personally, it typically got good reviews until... there's been a lot of discussion on some forums in the past few months because a couple of lab reports showed Northfin products as having the preservative ethoxyquin, high levels in at least one case. The notoriety has primarily been a consequence of NF's prominent claims not to use or need any preservatives and some have contacted them personally in the past and been assured by NF they do not use ethoxyquin. This had always raised questions, because (as some knowledgeable people are aware) an effective preservative is required at legally prescribed levels (higher than final product levels) when shipping products like krill to prevent explosion hazards. Ethoxyquin is one of the most effective for this purpose. As a result of all the NF discussion, some have speculated the high levels in the lab report for NF (over 300 ppm, FDA guideline for pet food is 150 ppm) is probably typical of other fish foods. NLS has been aware of the NF discussions and sent NLS product samples out for independent lab tests and all came back lower than FDA limits.
Ethoxyquin itself is debated by some people, though it's considered safe by the FDA at approved levels. NLS, who has published information arguing that ethoxyquin is safe at appropriate levels, which seems confirmed by decades of its presence in fish food, has nevertheless removed it (or is in the process) from its products. They're going to Naturox. This is just the basics of what's been discussed extensively in some corners. Not telling you to use or not use a particular product, just sharing information.

Almost forgot part of the original question-- hadn't yet gotten around to trying NF, have used plenty of NLS, and it's one of only two food brands I use.

I switched from NLS to frozen raw shrimps, and onto Northfin (since I read so many good reviews on NF), and now back to raw shrimps, again!
The fIrst kilo I ordered, my Moba seemed to like it. After the first kilo, I ordered a larger 2.5 kg. Right from the get go, they refuse to eat it. They take it and, right away, spit it out. Try many time to starve them and fed them again. Same result. They just refuse to eat the second batch of NF. I had to vacuum the pellets out every time I tried. Do you guys think there maybe something wrong with my second order? Now I ended up with 2.5kg of Northfin!!!

I have been really impressed with Northfin. I was very skeptical when I did the Northfin for a month challenge, but my Africans ( Peacocks & Fronts) have really spiked in growth & color just like I have seen others attest to.

I have the same results with NF. My Fronts and other fish mouth it and then spit it out. I contacted NF about this and received zero support. The formulas must have changed because my fish used to eat it with gusto. No more though.
