Smile Am I close to breeding?

Dear my Cyphos friends,

My 11 F1 Moba colony consists of 4 males and 7 females. The males are about 3-3.5 years old. Their size ranges from 8"-10". Females are about 2-3 years old and ranging around 6"-8".

I have grown them out from 1". I really enjoy the journey with my group so far, but Iím thinking it is almost time to see some actions.

I have recently seen alpha male chasing everyone around, but I have not seen any breeding or any holding.

Some specs on my setup:
My tank is 150 gallon (6 ft long x 18" wide x 30" high).
Filtration: 1 FX5, 1 Eheim 2262 on opposite end of the tank. 1 power head 350GPH on timer point to surface.
Substrate: "salt and pepper" aragonite sand.
Structure: 2 big lace rocks on each end.

Diet: mix of NLS 2mm, 3mm, and Tetracolor pellet. I give them fresh cut shrimp as a treat once a week on water change day.

Tankmates: 4~3" BN pleco.

Water change: 50% once a week.

pH: varies 8.5-9.0 (Houston, TX area)

Thanks in advance for any comments and advises. Is there something I can do to encourage spawning behavior besides "being patience".

Sounds like they are big enough to be sexually mature. All else seems fine. I watch for dropped tubes at feeding time. Females will start to drop a tube a few days (sometimes a week) before they are ready to spawn. You will see this tube progress to a point where you will learn what a fully dropped tube looks like. Once tube is fully extended, spawning is immanent. Mature males will have a dropped tube nearly all the time. Without tubes, there will be no spawning.

The best, age old advice for a male to successfully spawn with a female is red wine (cabernet sauvignon or merlot work best - don't go cheap), Barry White on the iPod and do the dishes

Let us know when you have dropped tubes and don't name the kids after me

My girls are cheap hussies! They'll settle for Schlitz malt liquor or a fine wine cooler but the Barry White is essential!

All kidding aside, how is the current in the tank? Two large canisters like those may be a bit much for a 150g, I'm not sure?
Here are a couple rather poor pictures of a female's dropped tube. They will sometimes vary in size but this is what an average tube looks like. This female spawned a couple hours after I took these photos.
