Default Fin Color Of W/C Moba Female

One of my W/C Moba females that I recently purchased has white/light blue finnage vs the other 3 Mobas (M and F) having dark blue finnage.

Is this normal variation or is the one whitish finnage female a different variant?

Not a mood thing as she has had this coloration since I got her 3 weeks ago.

I'll try to post a picture. Any thoughts without seeing a picture? The fish is definitely a Zaire type as she has the mask between the eyes.

just for the record a tanz and zaire and a fair few others have that same face mask

if its a lot light blue then it could be a Tanz type not a Zaire IMO

pictures please and yes a picture tell a 1000 words

Arghhhh.....you guys are right. Went to that other sites species profiles and the Tanz types have the mask and the whitish/very light blue fins. They look just like her!!!!

She's a Tanz type and not Zaire..........................

I knew something was up as she looks very different compared to the other 3 Mobas. She's nice looking - but different...................

One way to to test it out is to put the lighter colored fish in a different tank temporarily, where it can be a dominant fish. If it darkens up and starts looking Zaire, then it's probably a matter of mood, status in the group, or something similar. I've done it myself with low ranking males in a group and the transfomation can be dramatic.

How dark are the bars?
