Default Don't mix this fish with your beloved cyphotilapia

My Synodontis Multipunctatus won't get this big right?

Almost looks like a fat, gluttonous red tail cat.

Your Synodontis might get that big -LOL. Be careful what you feed them - no baby frontosa

That's a gulper catfish. They have evolved with a HUGE mouthful designed for taking big prey. I definitely would not stock one in my Cyphotilapia tanks.

I wouldn't worry about a normal catfish pulling that off. Gulper catfish are just capable of eating very large prey relative to their own size. However they don't get very large, so they could likely be kept with fronts over the 12" mark.

LOL, I don't blame you... just saying anything at that size in theory could not be food. It is funny though in the chain of aggressiveness while cichlids can rank high, there are much more passive seeming fish that would just eat them... Catfish in general are no joke, especially some of the monsters people try to house.
