First of all, how can I lower anyone’s reputation when I never mention a single Name in my post? I only said that a few local breeder selling their F1 Zaire fish with mooning, and I am not interest buying. The reason I post this topic is because I am interest to know how many people are willing to buy non quality Zaire when the price is reasonable. I am also looking for advice why there are so many F1 Zaire size 4”-6” fish with mooning for sale lately. I can’t seem to find any good quality fish for sale at all…Maybe, because I haven’t found the right seller? This is just my opinion; quality fish should never have mooning, bad stripes, or defect of any kind. Some people may find that is unique and they enjoy them, but it’s not for me.
I enjoy raising fish as hobby…I am not a breeder, seller, or the expert. Please, don't get me wrong...I am not here bad mouth anybody business...Just looking for advice from the expert on the Cyphos forum, and hopefully to learn from them. If any of the sellers out there got offended by my post...I apologize, and please move on. I am not a business person. I got nothing to gain for doing this other than getting good tips from the expert.
Why should they be offended if they are proud of their fry???? You did not name names and your topic is a good one (they need to get over it). Perhaps these other breeders may want to improve their brood stock if they want to be a quality breeder.

1st, let me reiterate a point that I made earlier: "genetic mooning" is a lack of pigment in one or all of the black bars. If you have a fish that does not have any fading (ie. no mooning) and then under a stressful situation, some fading appears, you can say, with confidence, that, that particular fish does not have mooning. Again, genetic mooning is a lack of black pigment. If you have pigment, you have pigment.

A stress bar is a horizontal black bar that some frontosa get when stressed. I would be very suprised if those pictured fish had mooning when they become adults and are in their happy place.

you can have both parents with perfect strips and still get mooning . no one should be offended with the topic . fact of the matter it is personal preference if you choose not to buy w/ or w/ out it . my wild caught throw it on some as well with the parents with no sign of mooning .

6-7 months old in the pic .

these are fry from my wild caughts that i decided to raise to see how they turn out as adults . the nice blues on them matters to me then a little missing spot of black pigment . like i said some throw it not all
